1. Revelation 8:4 (ESV)
  2. Exposition

Must the prayers of the saints be of a certain holy quality before they are heard in heaven?

Revelation 8:4 (ESV)

4 and the smoke of the incense, with the prayers of the saints, rose before God from the hand of the angel.

The lesson from Revelation 8:4 is surely that all prayers of the saints, no matter how broken, weak, or tainted with sin, come to the attention of God in heaven. See Hebrews 4:14, Hebrews 8:1, Hebrews 9:11–14, Hebrews 10:19 for why we may confidently pray to God.
