Even as I write this, one of the most devastating forest fires ever is burning through portions of California. In 2019‑2020 a bushfire ignited by lightning devastated a large portion of land in Australia. This plague has occurred many times since Jesus’ enthronement at his ascension (Revelation 5:1–14) and will continue to recur until his return in glory.
7 The first angel blew his trumpet, and there followed hail and fire, mixed with blood, and these were thrown upon the earth. And a third of the earth was burned up, and a third of the trees were burned up, and all green grass was burned up.
