The term translated as “must” renders a particular Greek word that captures the notion of divine necessity. The mighty angel with his two fiery feet planted firmly on sea and land symbolizes Christ’s absolute authority over all “peoples and nations and languages and kings.” The blasts of the earlier trumpets have impacted people around the globe. Now that the seventh angel is about to blow the seventh trumpet, invariably many peoples, nations, languages, and kings will also be impacted. So it is necessary that John expound about that impact in further prophesy (see coming chapters).
