1. Hosea 11:4 (ESV)
  2. Exposition

What does the LORD indicate with the image of the yoke?

Hosea 11:4 (ESV)

4 I led them with cords of kindness, with the bands of love, and I became to them as one who eases the yoke on their jaws, and I bent down to them and fed them.

He uses the image of two cows linked together by a common yoke. This yoke prevents them from bending over. It is therefore removed during feeding. Through this image God shows his goodness to his people. He made sure they lack nothing. They were given plenty to eat.
