Through Christ we draw near to God

Hebrews 11:5–6 (ESV)

5 By faith Enoch was taken up so that he should not see death, and he was not found, because God had taken him. Now before he was taken he was commended as having pleased God.

It is through Christ, our great high priest, that we can draw near to God (see Hebrews 4:14–16). It is through Christ that God gives us eternal life. God gave his son because he wants us to be near to him, now and for ever. And when Jesus comes, we shall be with him for ever. Through death he takes us with him. And when we live when Jesus returns, we will not see death (like Enoch).
