A doxology or song of praise can be found in some Christian letters and shows us how these letters functioned in the early church. Letters would be read aloud to believers during their gatherings for corporate worship (Colossians 4:16; 1 Thessalonians 5:27). During these gatherings Christians would read from Old Testament Scriptures and also letters sent by the apostles and other church leaders.1 In Jude’s doxology, he takes up some themes that have been present throughout his letter.
