What does "Amen" mean and why is it part of this letter?
Jude 1:25 (ESV)
25to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen.
Amen means certainty, truth, or verily. This phrase is included in the letter with the idea that the church itself would say it out loud together,1 affirming their agreement with what Jude has written and making his prayer their own.2
25 to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen.
