1 Corinthians 2:1 (ESV)

1 And I, when I came to you, brothers, did not come proclaiming to you the testimony of God with lofty speech or wisdom.

From here to 1 Corinthians 2:5, Paul gives a third argument in support of his statement that, through the gospel of Christ, God has destroyed the wisdom of the wise (1 Corinthians 1:19). This time, he reminds the Corinthians of the way in which he had preached the gospel to them. He did not use man-made tactics to try and impress them (lofty speech). Neither had he preached worldly wisdom.
