Having shown from everyday life (1 Corinthians 9:7) and from the law (1 Corinthians 9:8–10) that a minister of the gospel has the right to be supported by the church, Paul now applies this principle to himself and Barnabas. Since they have sown spiritual things
(by proclaiming and teaching the gospel), they have the right to reap material things
(having their daily needs provided for by the church).
11 If we have sown spiritual things among you, is it too much if we reap material things from you?
