1 Corinthians 10:14 (ESV)

14 Therefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry.

Paul moves on to a tenderhearted appeal. The word therefore indicates that this appeal is based on the preceding points. In view of the serious consequences of idolatry, and in view of God’s faithfulness to deliver his people from temptation, the Corinthians should flee from idolatry.

To flee means to avoid not only sin itself, but also situations in which one can be tempted to sin. As with sexual immorality (see 1 Corinthians 6:18), so with idolatry, flight is the way of escape that God has provided to the Corinthians (see 1 Corinthians 10:13).
