Commentary on 1 Corinthians 11:8 (Summary)

1 Corinthians 11:8 (ESV)

8 For man was not made from woman, but woman from man.

In 1 Corinthians 11:7–8, Paul gives two reasons for his statement that woman is the glory of man. First, the woman was created from the man. This statement ties in with Genesis 2:22, where we are told that God removed a rib from Adam’s side and used it to form the woman.
