Do not say, “I will pay you back for this wrong!” Wait for the Lord, and he will avenge you. That is what Solomon says in Proverbs, the book of wisdom (Proverbs 20:22). Paul writes the same in Romans 12:17–19 and says in Romans 13:1–7 that God has instituted the authorities to carry out his wrath on the wrongdoer.
