He complains about the injustice that his people chased other gods almost right from the start. He asks: what injustice have I done to you? A question to which there is only one answer: no injustice! There was really nothing wrong in God. And yet they went after puny gods, good-for-nothings, vanities. And whoever follows those gods becomes like them: you become just as worthless as those idols.
5 Thus says the LORD: “What wrong did your fathers find in me that they went far from me, and went after worthlessness, and became worthless?
