It has a beautiful meaning. It does not mean that God sits in heaven only watching and knowing what is going on in your life. The word “to know” here means that God is involved. It means that God has planned your life the way it is. David was anointed to serve God’s kingdom. To know David’s way, secondly, means that God will take care of him. He is Yahweh, the faithful One. And that God knows David’s way not only has implications for the past and the present, but thirdly also for the future. God will fulfill his plan with David in Jesus, the great Son of David (Luke 1:32–33).
