Psalm 142:1–7 (ESV)

1 With my voice I cry out to the LORD; with my voice I plead for mercy to the LORD.

Preach Christ who became lonelier and lonelier on the road to the cross. In the end everyone left him; when darkness came over Golgotha, even his Father left him. “On the cross he humbled himself, in body and soul, to the very deepest shame and anguish of hell. Then he called out with a loud voice, My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? (Matthew 27:46) that we might be accepted by God and nevermore be forsaken by him.”1
