Though it is true in a general sense that God loves and cares for all the people he has made, the focus of Jesus’ words in Mark 10:14 are in the first place about covenant children. Covenant children are the children of believers. They are children which are either born to believing parents or adopted into the families of believing parents. These are the children who were brought to Jesus in Mark 10:13.
14 But when Jesus saw it, he was indignant and said to them, “Let the children come to me; do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God.
