Joshua 18:1–19:51 (ESV)

1 Then the whole congregation of the people of Israel assembled at Shiloh and set up the tent of meeting there. The land lay subdued before them.

Joshua 18–19 provides details about the allotment given to the seven remaining tribes: Benjamin, Simeon, Zebulun, Issachar, Asher, Naphtali, and Dan. It can be divided into two parts:

  1. The move to Shiloh and scouting of the land (Joshua 18:1–10)

  2. The allotment for the seven remaining tribes (Joshua 18:11 – 19:51)

These two chapters (Joshua 18–19) should be considered together as a single unit on account of the fact that reference to Shiloh and the tent of meeting is made at the beginning and the end (see Joshua 18:1; Joshua 19:51).1
