3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

The blessings are found in the Psalms. Especially Psalm 1 is important: “Blessed is the man…His delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night” (Psalm 1:1–2; see also Psalm 32:1–2; Psalm 106:3; Psalm 119:1–2).
