The prophet Isaiah had noted that the seraphim he saw in God’s presence had wings for flying (Isaiah 6:2; see also Exodus 25:20; Ezekiel 1:6). This, however, is the only time in the Bible that an angel is actually presented as flying. The picture is of an angel in action, hastening to do as God has commanded.
6 Then I saw another angel flying directly overhead, with an eternal gospel to proclaim to those who dwell on earth, to every nation and tribe and language and people.
