We are not told specifically where the Pharisees came from. They must have heard that Jesus arrived in Dalmanutha (perhaps an area near the southern end of the plain of Gennesaret). The last time when Jesus was in Gennesaret (Mark 6:53) he was also met by Pharisees (Mark 7:1). In that instance, they had come down from Jerusalem.
