What are some implications of the book of Zephaniah being the word of the Lord
? It came to Zephaniah with a view to his delivering it to God’s people. The prophet had great confidence in the authority of God’s word and the power of the Holy Spirit to accomplish much through the preached word. So this gives us opportunity to reflect on what kind of confidence we have today in the Word. The church has a need for the pure preaching of the word, and so we also have a need for men who with urgency and compassion will faithfully proclaim this word among God’s people and to an unbelieving world.
