1 Simeon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ,To those who have obtained a faith of equal standing with ours by the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ:

2 Peter can be divided as follows:1

       - The greeting (2 Peter 1:1–2)

       - Letter body: a warning against false teachers (2 Peter 1:3 – 3:18a)

                      - God’s call to glory and virtue (2 Peter 1:3–11)

                      - Apostolic testimony and the false teachers (2 Peter 1:12 – 2:22)

                      - A call to holiness (2 Peter 3:1–18a)

       - Closing: doxology (2 Peter 3:18b)
