This final clause of the verse connects the current vision directly to what John had described in the previous vision (Revelation 14:6–11). He had heard an angel declare that all who worshipped the beast and received its mark were to “drink the wine of God’s wrath” (Revelation 14:10), and had also seen an angel throw earth’s harvest into “the great winepress of the wrath of God” (Revelation 14:19). What he now sees forms the climax of that judgment: judgment carried out in full.
1 Then I saw another sign in heaven, great and amazing, seven angels with seven plagues, which are the last, for with them the wrath of God is finished.
