The Chaldeans are the first to take the floor and from this we see that the Chaldeans occupy the first place among the scholars at court. This becomes even more understandable when we realize that Nebuchadnezzar’s father was a Chaldean. Additionally, as stated before they are the priests for the state religion. They now beg the king to tell them his dream so that they may be able to analyze and interpret it for him.
