Daniel 2:35 (ESV)

35 Then the iron, the clay, the bronze, the silver, and the gold, all together were broken in pieces, and became like the chaff of the summer threshing floors; and the wind carried them away, so that not a trace of them could be found. But the stone that struck the image became a great mountain and filled the whole earth.

The shattering of the world’s kingdoms, of all the accumulated human power, will be radical. In reality nothing will be left of it. It will become dust, chaff. The wind will cause it to blow away and nothing will be found to tell of its previous existence. The concept of chaff demonstrates that it has no value whatsoever. How different it is with the stone that pulverizes the image. This stone will become a mountain. The power represented by this stone will fill the entire earth. The might that this stone symbolizes will remain and will ultimately determine history forever, affecting every corner of the world. This power comes from God.
