Nebuchadnezzar is forced to admit that not he but the Lord is the most powerful, that the king of Babylon and his gods are no match for him. He has to acknowledge that what he said in Daniel 3:15 is wrong. There is a God, the only living One, who is able to save people from the power of even Nebuchadnezzar. He too is under the authority of this one God. The mighty Nebuchadnezzar does not stand next to or above the Lord. Nebuchadnezzar is humbled and brings a song of praise to the Lord. He can no longer help but point to the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego as the Almighty. The events prove it. In doing so, he stoops very low for a king in these days. He even honours the three friends for disobeying his command to kneel before his statue. As a result of God’s saving actions with the three men, Nebuchadnezzar has no other choice.
