That same night Belshazzar has to acknowledge that ignoring God’s judgment by laughing and partying it away is just not possible. The Lord sends the Medes and Persians to kill Belshazzar the Chaldean that very night. He lived for himself, and therefore has no part in the eternal feast. Those who learn to live not for themselves but for Christ may know that they are on their way to the eternal feast, the wedding of the Lamb—the eternal feast of the King of kings.
