Revelation of God the Father

2 Peter 2:1–3 (ESV)

1 But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction.

What does 2 Peter 2:1-3 reveal about who God the Father is? God reveals himself to his people through prophets. The existence of false prophets assumes that there are also true prophets who speak truth from God, as has been seen previously in 2 Peter 1:16–21.

God is holy and he is not to be blasphemed. Peter writes that the way of truth is blasphemed when people follow false teaching.
