The Fish Gate was most likely located in the northern part of Jerusalem (see 2 Chronicles 33:14; Nehemiah 3:3; Nehemiah 12:39). The name itself was probably inspired by the fact that fish from the Mediterranean or the Sea of Galilee were sold in this location.1
