1 Corinthians 15:30 (ESV)

30 Why are we in danger every hour?

This rhetorical question highlights the importance of the resurrection for Paul himself and for his fellow apostles (see 1 Corinthians 15:11). Paul’s statement that he is in danger every hour is hardly an exaggeration. The New Testament provides us with ample testimony of the dangers he braved for the sake of the gospel (see, e.g., Acts 9:29; Acts 13:50; Acts 14:5–6, Acts 14:19; Acts 16:19–24; Acts 18:12–13; Acts 20:3, Acts 20:19; Acts 21:27–28, Acts 21:31; 2 Corinthians 4:8–11;  2 Corinthians 6:4–5, 2 Corinthians 6:8–10; 2 Corinthians 11:23–27; 2 Corinthians 12:10).
