The list of 1 Corinthians 15:39 is expanded to include non-living bodies,
both those in heaven (the sun, moon, and stars) and those on earth. Heavenly and earthly bodies each have their own glory.
A shining star, for example, cannot be compared to a majestic mountain. Each possesses a glory of its own.
40 There are heavenly bodies and earthly bodies, but the glory of the heavenly is of one kind, and the glory of the earthly is of another.
