The answer is: yes and no. Yes, because God is still there, and help is always to be found in him. No, because the people do not seek help from God. That is why people will perish from this ailment and be sent away from the Promised Land. In the next verse, Jeremiah 9:1, Jeremiah says it is so bad that he cannot stop crying. Why didn’t the people seek healing from God in time?
