Seven angels with the seven last plagues had been introduced to us in Revelation 15:1 and then further elaborated on in Revelation 15:5–6. These seven angels used bowls to pour out God’s ultimate plagues on a world that rejected the gospel of Christ’s victory over sin and Satan (see Revelation 16:1–21). Now that God’s plagues have been poured out (which does not happen once only but is continuous; see on Revelation 16:1), John sees one of these seven angels approaching him with an invitation to come elsewhere and see something else.
