Habakkuk 3:7 (ESV)

7 I saw the tents of Cushan in affliction; the curtains of the land of Midian did tremble.

The image of the tents of Cushan being afflicted and the curtains in the land of Midian trembling are references to God overthrowing the enemies of his people. This description is a reminder of when Gideon went into the Midian camp before he led the Israelites to attack them. He heard one Midianite telling another of a loaf of barley bread tumbling into their camp and collapsing their tent. This was to be a sign for him that with God’s help, he would defeat the Midianites. The symbolism declared that God would step in and defeat the enemies of his people and anyone who opposed Israel would be totally defeated.
