Here Daniel shows how the Lord, in his goodness and love, has warned his people so many times. Time and again the Lord sent his prophets, as often as he sent his servants to the leaders and all the people. It was to warn them, to show them the right way again, to call them to repentance. How often has the Lord, like a father, called back his rebellious child, who was ungrateful and insolent! Even when the child had boldly run away from him, he called him back again with a heart moved by love. He did not forget his people, even though they did forget him. As humans, we really cannot blame the Lord for anything that goes wrong. He has done everything. His acts of undeserved deliverance in the history of Israel are so many!
