Antiochus will no longer give honour to the gods of his ancestors or the god Tammuz. The latter god was the god of fertility and the favourite god of the women. Here we see very clearly that someone proclaims himself as a god. He exalts himself above everything.
37 He shall pay no attention to the gods of his fathers, or to the one beloved by women. He shall not pay attention to any other god, for he shall magnify himself above all.
