What does it mean for the burnt offering to be accepted?
Leviticus 1:3 (ESV)
3“If his offering is a burnt offering from the herd, he shall offer a male without blemish. He shall bring it to the entrance of the tent of meeting, that he may be accepted before the LORD.
The word acceptable (rāṣôn) is a technical term which means that a sacrifice has been effective to take care of one’s sins. In this sense, God’s acceptance of the sacrifice is the acceptance of the one who brings it.
