The biblical writer now moves on to describe the second type of burnt offering, that of smaller animals from the flock. The ritual is almost identical to that which was laid out in Leviticus 1:3–9. On this occasion, however, some acts are not repeated: laying on of hands and the skinning of animals. Some commentators believe that such details are to be taken for granted because of the parallel language.
