The offering of the firstfruits symbolized that all agricultural produce is a gift from the Lord. The purpose of the offering was to remind the nation of the covenantal relationship between the Lord and the worshipper through the offering of the choicest produce.
14 “If you offer a grain offering of firstfruits to the LORD, you shall offer for the grain offering of your firstfruits fresh ears, roasted with fire, crushed new grain.
