The man clothed in linen stands above the waters of the river. He rises above the others. He is greater than those two. The fact that he is standing above the river shows that he also rules over the rivers, as well as over the waters on earth.
One of the two asks the man in linen something. This too shows that the man is above those two others. These two angels also know the prophecies that the man in linen has made known to Daniel and thus to the church of Christ. They also realize that these prophecies speak of a very difficult time for God’s people. They therefore ask the man in the linen, How long shall it be till the end of these wonders?
Will this difficult time ever come to an end? The angels ask their question to get an answer for the believers. In this way, the Lord grants us encouragement today by the answer of the man in linen.
6 And someone said to the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the stream, “How long shall it be till the end of these wonders?”
