It is noteworthy that the prophet says, And now, O priests, this command is for you, since what was written in previous verses was also addressed to the priests (1:6). But while the previous verses were addressed to the priests who tolerated the offering of blemished sacrifices, the people who offered these blemished sacrifices were also implicated. In what follows, however, the prophet addressed the priests exclusively, and speaks about their special office.
