Moses was the mediator of the old covenant. He was the middleman between God and his people. He spoke to Israel on behalf of God and prayed for them to God for help and forgiveness. Jesus also mediates between God and people. He represents God with the people, and he represents the people before God. His mediation bridges the chasm between heaven and earth. Jesus is much more and greater than Moses. He is the mediator of the new covenant, a better covenant, based on the sacrifice of his blood, that surpasses everything (Hebrews 8:6, Hebrews 9:11–22).
