Looking at the world God’s way

Habakkuk 2:9–20 (ESV)

9 “Woe to him who gets evil gain for his house, to set his nest on high, to be safe from the reach of harm!

This great revelation to Habakkuk of God’s absolute sovereignty really is the answer, and it is something we need today. Do I want a personal faith in Christ? [Yes], absolutely! To know that he is my Saviour and I am his child. But I also want to think his way and look at the world his way. I want a faith that embraces a world and view of life that will give me a solid foundation—a place to stand when the whole world seems to be shaking—and that is what God gave his servant. And I trust that God will give it to every one of you, so that in the midst of all the turmoil and chaos of this age, you can lift up your eyes and say, the Lord is in his holy temple. And to all of your friends and neighbours and acquaintances say, let all the earth be silent before him.1
