What was to be done with the fat of the animal?

Leviticus 4:8 (ESV)

8 And all the fat of the bull of the sin offering he shall remove from it, the fat that covers the entrails and all the fat that is on the entrails

Leviticus 4:8 states that the fat of the animal was to be removed. As with the peace offerings (see Leviticus 3:1–17), this was to be burned on the altar.
