People are the building material and the builders

Ezra 2:1–70 (ESV)

1 Now these were the people of the province who came up out of the captivity of those exiles whom Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon had carried captive to Babylonia. They returned to Jerusalem and Judah, each to his own town.

To God there is not a person that is insignificant. How do we know that? We see it right here. He calls them out. He mentions them. He identifies them. People are God's primary building material, and they are also God's primary builders. We are the material that God uses to build his church; the church is the people of God. We are the ones that God uses to build the church. We are both. We are living stones that are build together by the stones through the Spirit.1
