God is always fulfilling his purposes

Ezra 1:1 (ESV)

1 In the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah might be fulfilled, the LORD stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, so that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom and also put it in writing:

In a real sense, there are no days of small things in God's economy. There are no silent years. God is always in the process of doing something much bigger than what it looks like. That was true in redemptive history and it is absolutely true in our lives. God is always doing something bigger and greater than what we can see with our eyes. He is always fulfilling his purposes. He is always working out all things after the counsel of his own will. He is always keeping his promises.1
