What is noteworthy about Israel’s request to Sihon?
Judges 11:19 (ESV)
19Israel then sent messengers to Sihon king of the Amorites, king of Heshbon, and Israel said to him, ‘Please let us pass through your land to our country,’
The disputed land was originally the Amorites’, not the Ammonites’. And originally, Israel had no interest in the land that Ammon is claiming; Israel simply wanted to peacefully pass through.
