What does it mean that Judas left to go to his own place?
Acts 1:25 (ESV)
25to take the place in this ministry and apostleship from which Judas turned aside to go to his own place.”
This is a euphemism for one’s ultimate destination,1 most likely implying that he has gone to hell.2 He rejected God’s King and now he faces the consequences. His departure from the apostolic office and then his suicide afterwards indicate that he did not belong to Christ.
