1 For you yourselves know, brothers, that our coming to you was not in vain.

The main body extends from 1 Thessalonians 2:1 to 1 Thessalonians 5:22. Fee ends the body of the letter at 1 Thessalonians 5:11, placing the exhortation of 1 Thessalonians 5:12–22 in the letter’s conclusion.1
