The present section begins the epilogue to the Revelation Jesus Christ showed John. The body of that revelation has concluded with the four portraits of the church (Revelation 21:9–22:5), which in turn formed the antipode to the seven letters to the churches (Revelation 2:1–3:22). This post-portrait epilogue has echoes of the pre-letters prologue.
6 And he said to me, “These words are trustworthy and true. And the Lord, the God of the spirits of the prophets, has sent his angel to show his servants what must soon take place.”
